Kneipp treatment in and around Naturns

Pastor Sebastian Kneipp was one of the first people to look for possible natural treatments for various health problems and conditions. He especially recommended Water Therapy, the use of cold and warm water pools, steam and wrapping treatment with warm, damp bandages. His various therapies are very popular nowadays and are successful in the treatment of a number of different conditions. Kneipp treatments are used to cure both high and low blood pressure, help relieve pain and can also be beneficial for certain heart and vascular conditions. Furthermore, they play an important role in preventive and restorative medicine.

The Naturns Tourist Authority has sponsored a special natural Kneipp area comprising a number of landscaped pools and streams filled with crystal-clear mountain water which meander along the sides of both the Nörderberg and the Sonnenberg. The water courses are well-marked and there are information boards explaining how things work at various places along the route.
